Holiday Market 2005 Recipe

Chocolate Covered Cherries

"This is a special treat we make every year for Christmas. They are so much better then the store bought kind!! They never last long!!"

1 stick butter, melted2 lb.
powdered sugar1 large pkg.
Milk chocolate chips
maraschino cherries ( I use a large 4 lb 10 oz jar of cherries with stems)
1 can Condensed Eagle Brand milk
pinch of salt

Combine butter, milk, sugar and salt; mix well and chill until can be handled.
Take a small amount; flatten and wrap around a cherry that has been well drained.
Place in freezer one hour.
Melt chocolate chips. dip candy with toothpick into chocolate, then remove toothpick and place on wax paper to dry. You can use cherries with stems on them for easier dipping.
