Gardening, sewing, crafty things, biking, my kids, my dog, reading, playing online . . .

Tell us about your business:

I make homemade (from scratch) highly scented soaps which I sell online and in boutiques.

How long have you been in business?

Almost a year

What is the toughest part about working at home?

Trying to schedule my work around my two year old. Some days it's very difficult to get anything done

What is the biggest perk?

I love that I can almost always say yes if my kids ask me to let them participate in a sport or school activity. When I was working outside the home their activities were very limited. I love being there for them.

What WAHM tip do you have to offer?

If possible, get a mother's helper (older preteen) to help you out each day for a little bit. My older girls are quite good help with my yougest. I will miss having them here when school starts. Also, don't get discouraged. Rome wasn't built in a day - neither will your home business be. Be ready to have a very reduced income when you first start out. Often times your profit will go right back into your business.
